Episode 4: Shadows in Pursuit

Korrin Vale slips from his hiding place, moving swiftly and silently, his boots barely making a sound on the damp cobblestones. The mysterious figure ahead keeps to the shadows, their cloak billowing slightly as they navigate the winding alleys of Blackport.
They know these streets well.
Korrin keeps a safe distance, careful not to reveal himself too soon. The figure pauses at an intersection, glancing over their shoulder. For a brief moment, Korrin swears their gaze lands directly on him.
But then, they move again—faster this time.
The chase leads him past the flickering torchlights of an abandoned fishmonger’s stall and down a narrow passage barely wide enough for two men. Korrin’s pulse quickens. This isn’t random wandering. The figure is leading him somewhere.
Then—suddenly—they disappear.
Korrin reaches the end of the alley and finds himself standing before a massive wooden door, reinforced with iron bands. No sign of the figure. No movement. Just silence.
Then, from behind him—a whisper.
You're persistent. But persistence can get a man killed in this city.
Before he can react, a blade rests gently against his side. The figure stands behind him now, barely more than a silhouette against the darkness.
Is this an ally... or a test?
